Columbus concept nominated as best independent coffee shop in the country by ‘USA Today’

A Columbus brand has made a USA Today shortlist of the country’s best independent coffee shops, with a chance to be named the best overall.

Stauf’s Coffee Roasters was recently named one of 20 nominees in the USA Today 10Best Readers Choice awards for Best Independent Coffee Shop.

“Stauf’s is well known as a choice place to get coffee in Columbus, Ohio, since it’s the area’s first micro-roaster,” USA Today wrote about the Columbus brand. “Since 1988, all of the coffees they offer are roasted by hand in small batches on gas-fired drum roasters. Their motto is ‘The proof is in the cup!’”

The contest relies on fan voting to determine the country’s best independent coffee shop. Currently, Stauf’s is 7th place in voting, which ends on Oct. 23. You can vote for Stauf’s here.

One other Ohio coffee shop joined the Columbus roasters on the USA Today list. The Flying Joe, which locationds in Perrysburg and Toledo, is currently in third place.
