Columbus food hall voted fourth best in the country in ‘USA Today’ reader poll

Jack McLaughlin

You likely already knew this, but food halls are having a moment. Even though new halls have opened this year in New Albany and Zanesville, it’s a Columbus spot that was recently named the fourth-best food hall in the country by USA Today Readers.

Earlier this year, Budd Dairy Food Hall was nominated for the Best Food Hall award in the 2023 USA Today 10Best Readers Choice awards, and while it didn’t take home the top spot, the Italian Village food hall was named the country’s fourth best.

“This food hall breathes new life into a former dairy that stood vacant for more than 50 years. Nowadays, the building hosts foods from 10 kitchens, has a few bars to choose from, and offers a rooftop deck for great views of the surrounding neighborhood. Locals love “Hatch,” the revolving pop-up that features up-and-coming Columbus area chefs,” a USA Today 10Best Readers Choice description reads.

Voting for the contest ended earlier this month.

According to USA Today readers, only City Foundry STL in St. Louis, The Garage Food Hall in Indianapolis and Mother Road Market in Tulsa (which was voted the country’s best) are better food options than Budd Dairy.
