Columbus rum considered among best in the world by spirits contests goes on sale this weekend

Echo Spirits’ Queen’s Share Rum has taken hold double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for two years straight, placing it among elite company for American spirits.

It’s available in limited quantities, and when it’s gone, it’s gone until next year’s batch.

While that means that the 2022 Queen’s Share rum is no longer available, there’s good news, still, as this year’s Queen Share goes on sale this weekend.

Both Echo’s Queen’s Share Rum and a new 2023 variant, Caramel Apple Queen’s Share, are available beginning this Friday at the Echo Spirits taproom.

Starting this weekend and next, select liquor stores in Ohio will receive limited amounts of both variants for sale. You can check availability here for regular Queen’s Share and here for the Carmel Apple variant.

“Winning a Double Gold at San Francisco is like winning an Oscar. It’s the highest honor at the most prestigious competition. It means that all ten judges grading your bottle scored it a gold. Out of the 4000 entries at the 2022 competition, less than ten percent won a Double Gold. Less than one percent went on to win another Double Gold in 2023,” Echo Spirits co-owner John Bidinger said “We put it out each year the week before Thanksgiving, a time when we’re all trying to focus on all of the gifts we have in our lives. A way to celebrate friends, family, and gatherings.
We hope you like it as much as we do.”
