Dublin cake & macaron baker featured on ‘Food Network’ championship this month

Not one, but two Columbus area bakers have now been featured on Food Network’s baking championships.

A local Dublin baker, Christa Aylward, who owns Sweets by Christa, is competing on season 9 of Food Network’s “Halloween Baking Championship,” putting her cottage bakery skills to the test.

In the most recent episode this week, Aylward was safe from elimination, and she moves on to the next round of competition. The show originally started on September 11th, and each week, the contestants create Halloween, spooky themed desserts that will hopefully wow the judges. Only one will be left standing at the end, with $25,000 extra in their pocket, and we’re rooting for our fellow Central Ohioan!

As an avid baker for the past 15 years, Aylward specializes in artisan cakes and macarons, and she’s ecstatic about this opportunity to be featured on TV, according to her Instagram. “With hard work, determination, and the ability to believe in yourself your dreams can come true!” she said.

You can stay updated with the competition by tuning in Mondays at 9pm. Good luck, Christa!
