East Market vendor announces departure, but teases “future location”

After a year, one East Market vendor has announced its plans to close up shop in the near east side food hall and marketplace.

According to owner Lisa Robitaille, American Nut Company plans to leave the Olde Towne East spot.

“Even though we’ve had the best year ever getting to know more of you in Columbus at East Market, we’ve made the impossibly tough decision to shift our energy to other exciting ideas (stay tuned!),” a statement posted to the brand’s social media accounts reads.

American Nut Company’s final day of operation in the East Market was yesterday, but the shop will continue to operate its North Market Downtown and Columbus Convention Center locations, owner Lisa Robitaille told 614Now.

“In the meantime, our wholesale and corporate business is booming. Expect to find our products in more hotels, bars/breweries, activity/event venues, and other retail businesses throughout Columbus,” she said. “We’re also revamping our e-commerce business, and will start a quarterly subscription box offering this year. We continue to be committed to supporting our community of Columbus based businesses, and will be featuring Ohio proud gift boxes for all occasions.”

Robitaille mentioned that a “future location” was in the works, although the details of this were not shared. 614Now will provide an update on the concept’s newest spot when more information becomes available.
