Following closure due to liquor license issue, this Columbus eatery that launched in May is officially reopening

It’s not often that a restaurant holds two openings in less than three months, but that’s exactly what Local Cantina’s new Trolley District location has done.

According to a Local Cantina representative, the popular taco spot plans to reopen the doors of its new restaurant–located at 1644 Oak St.–today. The eatery is within the East Side’s Trolley District development, and near the East Market.

The restaurant will be open from 3-10 p.m. today, and will offer Taco Tuesday pricing until Monday at the new location.

Local Cantina originally opened its Trolley District location in early May, before it shuttered shortly after due to liquor license issues, the restaurant representative told 614Now. The new location will not be serving alcohol at this time, although it plans to do so after acquiring its license.

The representative noted that there is no current timeline for when Local Cantina expects to obtain the license, but that the eatery is “now simply waiting to receive it.”

The Trolley District space is Local Cantina’s 13th Columbus restaurant, in addition to single locations in both Cincinnati and Dayton.
