20+ year old Short North restaurant has ‘The Best Pasta in Ohio’ study says

The average American eats about 20 pounds of pasta per year, and collectively as a country, about 5.95 billion pounds of pasta annually. I’m ashamed to admit how much I probably contribute to these statistics, but I’m blaming it on the fact that Columbus has some incredible Italian restaurants and trattorias.

In fact, an Italian restaurant in Columbus has been recognized as being the “Best Italian Restaurant in Ohio,” according to an annual report by 24/7 Tempo of the “Best Italian Restaurants in Every State.” To determine the best of the best, they reviewed lists and rankings on numerous food and general interest sites, including Eater, Yelp, Forbes, and other city-specific sites.

None other than Martini Modern Italian won the accolade for extraordinary pasta in Columbus. This study suggests getting the fettuccine with clams and the tomato soup with pesto and goat cheese.

Martini, a Cameron Mitchell concept, first opened in the mid-1990’s at 445 N. High St. in the Short North, with more classic and traditional Italian elements. In 2008, Martini was revamped into “Martini Modern Italian,” in the same Short North space, but with a renovation to transition the traditional decor into a more upscale and modern restaurant.

Along with their famous espresso and dirty martinis, pasta lovers can enjoy a variety of pappardelles, tortellonis, pennettes, raviolis, and much more.
