Former Frisch’s Big Boy converted into new “luxury cafe”

The former home of a Frisch’s Big Boy now houses a unique new concept.

Safia Sweets & Kitchen, a new Somali-owned eatery that boasts everything from pastries and coffee to late night burgers and fries, officially opened for business on April 21.

The new eatery is located at 2375 Silver Dr, Columbus, which formerly served as a Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant.

Safia Sweets & Kitchen is described as a “luxury cafe,” and boasts an array of chandeliers, white tablecloths and other high-end decor. The eatery also operates as an event venue.

The new eatery offers breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner from its eclectic menu, which features everything from house-made Somali Rolls and Baris & Suqaar to flatbreads, wings, Philly Cheesesteak Subs and more.

Safia Sweets is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m.-midnight on Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
