Here’s when this Food Network star and judge on hit show “Chopped” is coming to Columbus

When the Giant Eagle supermarket located at 2900 Stelzer Road converts to a Giant Eagle Market District on Feb. 9, more than just the presence of local vendors will mark its grand opening celebration.

Food Network star Marcus Samuelsson, best known as a long-standing judge on the show “Chopped” and the owner of restaurants like Brooklyn’s iconic Red Rooster, will be one of the many guests in attendance at the celebration.

Samuelsson will be one of several individuals to give a short speech commemorating the opening of the new Market District (focusing on the importance of supporting local grocers and restaurants) followed by a live cooking demonstration that will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Guests to the free grand opening event will receive an exclusive recipe card for the dish he prepares at the event. Samuelsson will also hold a short meet and greet beginning at 11 a.m. where he will be signing autographs.

Additionally, the event will feature more than 20 different local vendors, who plan to set up booths throughout the store. A followup event at the store on March 4 will highlight similar vendors as well.
