Long-standing Columbus eatery “closed until further notice” following fire

Hunan Lion has served Columbus for decades, but the popular Chinese restaurant will have to close up shop for the time being.

According to a statement posted to the restaurant’s website and social media accounts, it will be closed until further notice due to a kitchen fire that broke out yesterday morning.

No one was harmed in the fire, and the restaurant did not share what caused it.

“Dear valued patrons, we are saddened to inform you that Hunan Lion will be temporarily closed until further notice following a recent fire incident that occurred 10/04/2023,” the statement reads. “We wish to express gratitude for your continued support and assure you we are working diligently to address the situation and reopen as soon as possible.”

Hunan Lion did not share when it plans to reopen, but the eatery will update patrons on its social media accounts when a date has been selected. Hunan Lion is located at 2038 Crown Plaza Dr.
