Columbus Thai food fanatics will have to wait to get their fix from a popular east side spot.

Bangkok Grocery & Restaurant, which is located at 3277 Refugee Rd., temporarily closed its restaurant portion this week as its owners prepare to leave for a vacation.

According to the statement, the restaurant’s temporary closure began on Jan. 16 and will continue until Feb. 21.

Bangkok Grocery will remain open while the eatery is closed.

A staple of the city’s southeast side dining scene, Bangkok Grocery & Restaurant has existed for nearly 40 years, with its grocery portion opening in 1983, and its Thai restaurant following soon after in 1984.

When its restaurant reopens next month, it will continue to serve carry-out customers only. The statement noted the eatery has no current plans to reopen its dining room.
