Middle Eastern coffee chain featuring cardamom coffees, pistachio lattes, opening first Ohio location

A Yemeni coffee chain is set to open its first central Ohio location, and its first storefront in the state of Ohio as well.

FinJan Cafe, which serves Yemeni Coffee, is set to open at 4734 Cemetery Rd. in Hilliard, according to signage on the building.

It’s currently unclear when the concept will open, but when it does, visitors can expect traditional Yemeni coffee. Yemen, which is located in the Middle East, south of Saudi Arabia, is the birthplace of coffee, according to FinJan Cafe’s website.

The chain’s offerings will include coffee served with spices like cardamom, ginger and cinnamon (both individually and combined, or mixed with milk), in addition to pistachio lattes, and small bites like milk cake and Sabaya, a traditional Yemeni cake with multiple layers of crispy dough.

The new coffee shop will be the first FinJan Cafe in the Columbus area, but not the first Yemeni Coffee shop in central Ohio, as Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. opened last year in Hilliard.
