National soda bar chain opens first central Ohio location

A National soda bar concept is shaking up the Columbus drink scene.

FIIZ Drinks, a contemporary take on the age-old soda bar, has opened its first-ever location in the Columbus area.

The first local FIIZ storefront, which is located at 46 E. Columbus St. in Pickerington, held its soft opening on Feb. 25, with a grand opening slated for March 25.

And it appears the Columbus area is already fond of the concept.

“We were informed by corporate that we broke Soft opening records held by stores in Utah,” a statement posted to the soda bar’s Facebook page earlier this week reads. “We are still considered a “soft” open and ask for your kindness and understanding as we all learn together. We have an amazing staff who are learning on the fly (and doing an fabulous job). Please be patient as they learn as staff and as we learn as owners. All of this is new for everyone. Thanks again!

The concept features sodas of all sorts (popular brands, Italian sodas, Monster energy drink mashups and water mixtures) which can be spiced up with a variety of flavor shots.

But drinks aren’t the only thing on the menu, either. The chain doubles a spot to grab sweet and salty treats like donuts, pretzels, “Cool Beads” ice cream and more.
