National sports themed restaurant & bar chain moving into former ‘Melt’ space

Columbus is a sports city, through and through, and there’s a restaurant business that appears to have recognized this.

Sports & Social, a national chain known for their enormous restaurants equipped with wall-to-wall TV’s and “league-leading,” made-from-scratch food and drink, is currently renovating the space that once housed Melt Bar and Grilled at 840 N High St., according to city permits and staff members at the Sports & Social Nashville location.

Along with state-of-the-art sports viewing and even betting lounges, Sports & Social restaurants also offer fun games, like skeeball, air hockey, ping pong, shuffleboard, bowling, arcade games, plus more.

Their menu varies based on location, but most of the restaurants in other cities offer their own take on “pub fare,” with elevated appetizers like giant pretzels and even ceviche dip, handheld sandwiches like cheeseburgers and crispy chicken, tacos, and shareable sides. They also have craft cocktails and a huge beer selection at all of their locations.

There are currently 17 other Sports & Social restaurants. There hasn’t been an announcement about an opening date yet, but it already sounds like a space that will be jam-packed on days the Buckeyes are playing.
