New chicken wing and burger spot sets up shop in Franklinton

Franklinton has welcomed a brand-new restaurant that’s bringing wings, burgers, tacos and more.

Steph’s Way has opened its doors inside Cypress Kitchens, a collection of pickup and delivery-only restaurants located at 177 S. Cypress Ave. The eatery, which held a pop-up inside Cypress Kitchen in late November, officially opened last week.

The new Franklinton spot serves hot chicken sandwiches, steak burgers, tacos and more, but according to owner Steph’Von Covington, “It all started with the wings,” he said.

The new Franklinton eatery’s most popular flavor, he told 614Now, is fittingly the one named after the restaurant, and himself.

“At Addella’s, when the fried wings were introduced, I wanted to make a flavor that would stick. I’m a big garlic parm fan, so I just created a sauce based around garlic parm with a few of my other favorite flavors and seasonings. I called them the Steph Way’s,” he said. “They were a huge hit there, and still seem to be now. So I based my brand off that name and doing things my way and introducing how I like to eat.”

The eatery previously operated from the kitchen of Addella’s on Oak. It joins Two Fat Indians Fusion, and both eateries operate a pickup window, and limited on-site seating is available at Cypress Kitchen.

Steph’s Way is open 12-9 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday, and 3-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
