New concept with ‘crazy tacos’ and unique mezcals is opening two different Cbus locations

“This will be something you’ve never seen in the city,” emphasized Fabio, a member of the marketing team of Columbus’ newest taco concept, Boom Boom Tacos, Tequila, and Mezcal.

Fabio’s referring to Boom Boom’s “Crazy Tacos” section on their menu, with tacos featuring Takis, peanuts, and even dried Tajin chickpeas. And if you tend to prefer yours on the simpler side, sans Takis, no worries – they’ll have more traditional tacos too, like a Carne Asada, Brisket, or Birria options.

Plus, they’ll have tapas, tortas, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, and bowls, along with classic margaritas, mezcalritas, and unique tequila and mezcal options. “Think of it like a cool, Mexican sports bar,” Fabio laughed.

One Boom Boom location will be located at 201 Chittenden Ave., which Fabio and the owner, Miguel, are excited about. It opens next month, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks, and it will definitely cater to a younger, campus audience who loves a cheap taco and margarita combo.

But of course, college students aren’t the only ones who love that dynamic duo, and Boom Boom tacos is opening a second location in 2024 at 970 Parsons Ave., where Beyond the Brix used to call home. “There’s a lot of young professionals living in German Village and around Parsons, and we’re excited to be there,” said Fabio.

“We’re excited about setting up a fun atmosphere and enjoying having our customers coming in and having a good time with us,” Fabio said.
