Ohio amusement park permanently closing another ride

After 31 years, the Snake River Falls boat ride closed last Labor Day. And now, Cedar Point has announced they’ll be closing yet another ride that’s adjacent to Snake River Falls in order to make way for future development.

Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling, located on the Frontier Trail of Cedar Point since 2017, is currently being dismantled and removed, and it won’t be coming back. It’s still unclear what might take its place, and a Cedar Point spokesperson said they’ll be sharing more information at the appropriate time.

The ride was previously known as “RipCord,” previously located in the Challenge Park area that’s now shuttered. Riders were placed in a harness, and it lifted them 150 feet in the air before they fall back down again. They relocated the ride to the Frontier Trail in 2017, right next to Snake River Falls. With both of them being removed from the park, a large space is now available for new development. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
