Local boutique & gift shop closing after 20 years

A quaint little boutique known for apparel, home decor, and lovely gifts is saying goodbye. But for them, it’s something to be celebrated.

Cute As a Button has resided in an old home-turned-storefront on 38 W. Olentangy St. in the heart of Powell for the past 20 years. Owners Andrea and Carole are excited for their next chapter though. “It is with a mix of gratitude and excitement that we announce the closing of our beloved gift shop,” they announced.

With their newfound retirement comes the closing of their store. Cute As a Button is slowly closing, without an official end-date announced, but with a giant sale – up to 75% off of everything, including cute sweaters, candles, books, games, ornaments, and much more.

This week, they’re open 10-5 p.m. today and Wednesday, 10-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday. All sales are final.

Andrea & Carole will use the new time they have to spend more time with family, travel, and explore, and go on more adventures. “While we will miss the daily interactions with you all, we are eager for the opportunities and experiences that await us in retirement,” they said. “Thank you for being a part of our story. Your support over the years has meant more to us than words can express, and we will carry these memories with us wherever we go.”
