New matcha bar serving gourmet toasts + more opens in Olde Towne East

The team behind Honeycup Coffee Company has expanded to a more niche category in the cafe world – matcha.

Their newest concept, DADA Matcha Bar, just opened in Olde Towne East in the lobby of 700 Bryden, which is a studio space for creatives and entrepreneurs. DADA serves hand-whisked matcha, coffee drinks, and gourmet toasts, such as one with mascarpone, cinnamon, apricot, and pistachio served on a French country loaf.

DADA says that their matcha is “absurd,” in a good way, of course. Matcha, this Japanese green tea, has taken the world by storm lately, for a variety of reasons: first, a cup of the light green drink is just aesthetically pleasing. Second, matcha offers a caffeine buzz, but without the acidity and nervous jitters that coffee usually brings.

Humans have been relying on matcha for centuries to get them through their days, but it’s difficult to find a great cup of matcha in Columbus that isn’t heavily processed or filled with artificial sugars and flavorings. Thankfully, DADA now has us covered.

While DADA is still ramping up to 7 days a week, you can catch them Thursday – Saturday from 8am to 2pm at 700 Bryden Rd. In the meantime, they have a fridge stocked with bottles of matcha and cold brew available for grab & go.
