A new eatery serving authentic gelato, Italian sandwiches and more is on its way to the Short North.

The concept, called Piazza Pelino, will be located at 772 N. High St. Its social media accounts say the new eatery is opening soon, although a specific date has not been announced.

Piazza Pellino will offer gelato, in addition to a variety of Italian sandwiches created using house-made focaccia bread. The concept also plans to sell imported Italian market goods.

As its name suggests, the new Short North restaurant is being created by the owners of Pelino’s Pasta, and will serve as its sister restaurant. Pelino’s Pasta, which is located at 245 King Ave. in Dennison Place, was opened in 2021 by Christina Pelino and Vinny Pelino. It focuses on serving high-end, authentic pastas made entirely from scratch.
