Ohio pizzeria introduces seasonal pie inspired by ‘pumpkin spice latte-mania’

A unique new seasonal pizza is now available in Columbus.

The Cincinnati-based concept Dewey’s Pizza (Dewey’s also operates central Ohio locations in Grandview, Dublin and Worthington as well) has unveiled the new Smashing Pumpkin.

Yesterday, Dewey’s released both their annual Harvest Salad, in addition to the new Smashing Pumpkin Pizza. The pizza will be available through Halloween, and the Harvest Salad will remain on the menu until the end of the year.

According to the Cincinnati-based pizza chain, the Smashing Pumpkin is inspired by “Pumpkin Spice Latte-mania,” and features a whipped pumpkin ricotta base that’s topped with mozzarella cheese, sausage, roasted shallots and toasted pumpkin seeds.

“The Smashing Pumpkin is the ultimate fall pizza with its sweet, salty and savory ingredient combination,” David Igel, head of Product Innovation at Dewey’s, said in a press release. “We’ve been perfecting this recipe for over a year. The unique flavor of the base brings balanced undertones of sage and honey alongside the star ingredient, pumpkin.”
