Platform Brewing Co. closes doors for good
Platform Brewing Co. has closed its doors for good, according to a statement posted to its website and a Platform spokesperson.
The Cleveland-based brand opened a Columbus taproom in 2017, although this location has been closed for nearly two years following an employee walkout.
Earlier today, Platform posted a statement to its website. It reads:
“On Wednesday, February 22, we closed the doors of our taprooms for the last time. Our taprooms served as gathering places where beer lovers could celebrate pride in their community while joining us on our mission to brew the best beers in Ohio, and we loved every minute of it. Moving forward, you’ll still be able to find your favorite Platform beers available for purchase at retail.”

A Platform spokesperson confirmed that the Columbus taproom—alongside the Cleveland and Cincinnati taprooms— is now permanently closed. Additionally, the spokesperson noted that while even though the brewery will shutter its physical locations, several of the brand’s beers will continue to be produced.
“As we navigate through the changing industry and operational challenges, it has become clear that Platform’s production and commercial efforts need to be focused on three beers: Haze Jude IPA, Odd Future Imperial IPA, and our new Canalway IPA,” the Platform representative said. “We are grateful to be part of the Ohio beer community and look forward to continuing to provide local beer drinkers with the IPAs they’ve come to love.“
As Platform is owned by Anheuser Busch, its beers can continue to be produced even after Platform closes its brick and mortar locations.
