Popular central Ohio donut shop opens entirely gluten-free location

Some of central Ohio’s best donuts are now available entirely gluten-free.

Gluten Free from the Dipped, a new, gluten-free brick and mortar donut shop and bakery, is officially open for business.

The concept, which operates as a sister shop to The Dipped Donut in Delaware, is located at 256 S. Sandusky St., in the former home Jeni Reida’s former tanning business. The Dipped Donut is located at the same address, but it occupies a different unit inside the same building. They share separate entrances, retail spaces and kitchens.

According to Reida, this is an important distinction, as the new concept is focused on producing solely gluten-free treats and eliminating the possibility of cross-contamination.

“We are a dedicated and certified facility,” she said.

At 2,500 square feet, the new gluten free hub will provide the Columbus-area bakery with plenty of room to continue crafting its donuts and cinnamon rolls that have garnered an intensely loyal following.

Previously, Reida would dedicate a single day each week at The Dipped Donut to thoroughly clean the facility and produce gluten-free baked goods, as their daughter and grandchild both have Celiac Disease.

“It’s just so nice to have our facility now,” Jeni Reida said in an interview late last year. “It’s such a blessing for these people. They don’t have the opportunity to walk into the store and pick up a loaf of thick-cut bread or a pepperoni roll or a pumpkin pie. But now they can.”

Gluten Free From the Dipped is open daily.
