This new bakery and coffee shop will offer Columbus an authentic taste of Europe

There’s a new coffee shop in town – one that intentionally makes you feel like you’re sipping a cappuccino and nibbling on a danish in Europe and not Columbus.

Nadia Semchishin and her family are the owners of the newly opened shop, Créme de la Créme Bakery & Cafe, at 5311 Westpointe Plaza Drive. “Our ultimate focus is to really bring the community together and give a sense of what Europe is like, right here in Columbus,” emphasized Kenny Damian, their marketing manager.

“The owners and the majority of our bakers and employees are Ukrainian, and the style of the bakery and the experience our visitors get reflect that. We also want to promote awareness of Ukrainian culture and what’s happening during the war, ” said Kenny.

The creamy white walls and light wooden accents compliment the foam and espresso in their cappuccinos they serve, too. The flowers on each table also perfectly match the colorful array of desserts and pastries, all neatly stacked together, purposefully making you feel as if you’re in a community coffee shop in Europe. Nadia owns her own design company in Columbus, called SemBro Designs, so everything has been highly curated with a simple, clean, modern, European flare to reflect Nadia’s heritage.

Créme de la Créme’s drink menu features classic espresso drinks, like americanos, affogatos, cappuccinos, macchiatos, mochas, cortados, and lattes, and their extensive daily pastries include a variety of danishes (cheese, cherry, raspberry), along with raisin and chocolate croissants, puffed pastries sprinkled with powdered sugar, tarts, cookies, cakes, and even more savory items, like a lox toast.

They’re officially open as of this week as a “soft opening,” but Kenny mentioned that starting on August 26th, they’ll have even more options at their Grand Opening.
