This longtime Columbus bakery has announced it will cease production of donuts

A Columbus bakery of more than 50 years is getting out of the donut game.

Auddino’s Italian Bakery, which produces a wide variety of baked goods–including buns and bread for many popular Columbus restaurants–announced in a social media statement this morning that it will cease production of donuts at its retail store, which is located at 1490 Clara St.

Auddino’s could not be reached for comment by the time this story was published, but according to the bakery’s statement, the decision to remove donuts from its offerings was due to “necessary business changes.”

The longtime Columbus business will move forward focusing on “cronuts,” their fried croissants, in addition to Italian cookies and other specialty items.

“We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and thank you for your understanding and support,” the statement reads.
