Short North patio to be transformed into new biergarten space (with pizza)

Jack McLaughlin

One Short North patio space is getting a major upgrade soon.

Mikey Sorboro, the owner of the popular local pizzeria Mikey’s Late Night Slice, is planning to convert the outdoor space between Mikey’s Late Night Slice and Oddfellows Liquor Bar (located at 1030 and 1038 N. High St., respectively) into a permanent biergarten, complete with a pizza and bar trailer.

The project would bring a pergola with a corrugated roof to the space, and would serve as a hotspot for patrons to grab pizza from Mikey’s or a drink from Oddfellows, both of which are operated by Soboro’s LNS Restaurant Group. The upgraded biergarten will replace the collection of chairs and tents that currently occupies the space.

The biergarten project is at the tail-end of the planning stages, and Sorboro hopes to have it open to the public in the next 45 days.

Sorboro told 614Now construction will likely begin May 8, and that work will take place on the weekdays. The patio space will be reopened for the weekends during this time.
