Upscale American restaurant coming soon to Buckeye Lake

A new eatery plans to bring upscale American fare to Buckeye Lake.

The Blue Heron Kitchen & Pub, a new contemporary American eatery, is slated to open later this month. The new concept, which is located at 10880 Mill Dam Rd. in Buckeye Lake, is approximately 30 minutes away from Downtown Columbus.

According to managing partner Marnita Swickard, the new eatery will hold its grand opening on Feb. 22.

With an emphasis on fresh produce and ingredients, the Blue Heron will fill a niche that is underrepresented in the lakefront city, offering diners a spot to grab an upscale meal at a cozy sit-down spot.

“We want to provide an elevated dining experience to Buckeye Lake,” Swickard said.

The restaurant, which features a nautical theme to its interior decor, will provide a mix of contemporary American cuisine and seafood favorites, which means everything from salmon to a gourmet pork chop sandwich will be available. Head Chef Matt Berichon, a Columbus restaurant veteran, will oversee kitchen operations.

The new Buckeye Lake eatery will offer indoor dining and bar seating for more than 100, in addition to an enclosed patio that will seat approximately 40 diners.
