Worthington chicken wing chain quietly closed their doors for a couple of months – here’s why

This upcoming March marks four years since the pandemic started, but even now, the restaurant scene has been irrevocably changed, with many mom & pop shops still struggling to get back on their feet, and many larger chains grappling with debt and a worker’s shortage.

Unfortunately, a hotspot for wings and tenders has shuttered their doors for a couple of months, citing effects from the pandemic.

Wings Over Worthington, located at 7170 N. High St., is temporarily closing up shop. According to an employee at the only other location in central Ohio, Wings Over Columbus on Lane Ave., they haven’t been able to staff Wings Over Worthington appropriately for the past couple of months, forcing the company to shut their doors. “We just can’t find enough people to work,” said Wings Over Columbus. They said that hopefully, it’s up and running again in March.

Wings Over Worthington first opened in May of 2021. They’re known for crispy jumbo wings with a wide variety of sauce choices, plus deep fried tenders, handheld chicken sandwiches, and their iconic waffle fries.

The Worthington location has been taken off of their locations listed on their website as well as all online ordering platforms.
