Around Ohio: ‘World’s longest haunted cave’ with 30,000 live bats open as haunted attraction

Haunted houses are frightening enough, so the prospect of descending 80 feet below the earth into a cave—and one filled with 30,000 live bats in addition to other spooky spectacles—is downright terrifying.

The Lewisburg Haunted Cave has returned for 2023. The cave is located at 4392 Swishers Mill Rd. in Lewisberg, a western Ohio city approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from Downtown Columbus.

This year, the attraction is open Sept. 15-Oct. 28. You can buy tickets here. A Haunted Mine Wagon Tour and a “Lights On” tour of the tunnel is also being offered.

Billed as the “world’s longest haunted cave,” the destination was also recognized as the world’s longest haunted house by the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records.

In addition being held in a real limestone cave and filled with 30,000 live bats, the Lewisburg Haunted Cave also boasts actors, plenty of creepy backdrops and much more.
