Multiple Ohio amusement parks named among the best in the country by ‘US News & World Reports’

We may be a bit biased about the quality of our amusement parks in the Buckeye State, but it appears many throughout the country also believe Ohio’s parks are some of the nation’s best.

According to a story published earlier this year by US News & World Reports, a pair of Ohio spots are among the 17 best amusement parks in the country.

While it’s unclear if the parks on the list are ranked numerically, the first amusement park mentioned is Sandusky’s Cedar Point.

“Located along the shores of Lake Erie, Cedar Point is known for its diverse selection of 70-plus rides, including 18 world-class roller coasters,” the story reads.

Located in Mason, Ohio, King’s Island was also on the list. US News & World Reports noted the spot was another haven for roller coaster, mentioning classic coasters like The Beast, which is the world’s longest wooden roller coaster after more than 40 years after it opened, and the park’s tallest and faster roller coaster, Orion.

While the list was dominated by parks in California and Florida, multiple others in neighboring states made the cut, including two in Kennywood (West Mifflin), Knoebels Amusement Resort (Eylsburg) and Hershey Park (Hershey) in Pennsylvania, in addition to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana.
