Cedar Point has unveiled a replacement for Top Thrill Dragster.

Yesterday, the Sandusky amusement park announced that its coaster, Top Thrill 2 is on its way, and will likely make its debut in 2024.

Featuring a pair of “sky-dominating towers,” Top Thrill 2’s track will reach heights of 420 feet tall, and speeds of 120 mph. According to Cedar Point, these will make the new attraction the world’s fastest and tallest triple-launch strata coaster.

A strata coaster is any complete-circuit roller coaster that reaches heights between 400 and 499 feet. According to Cedar Point, Top Thrill 2 will also be the world’s first dual strata coaster, meaning two different points of the track both surpass 400 feet in height.

“Top Thrill 2 is the only vertical speedway in the world, featuring not one, but TWO, sky-dominating towers. The existing 420-foot tower will give every rider a guaranteed rollback – that unmatched moment when your racer doesn’t quite complete its lap and returns to the launch in reverse,” the amusement park’s website reads.

Cedar Point also included a video animation displaying how the coaster will look in action.
