Columbus ranked ‘Top 5 Cities with the Rudest _____’: any guesses?

I was walking my dachshund/pitbull mix, Gus, in Schiller Park a couple of months ago, and a group of kids walked by and laughed at him. They told me that I had a “really ugly dog; like a pig on a leash.” I was taken aback for many reasons: Gus is very cute (he does resemble a pig on a leash, only making him more adorable though), and also, how could a group of 8 year olds be so mean?

Well, according to a 2023 national survey, residents in Columbus might have had a similar experience as I did that afternoon; Columbus has ranked Top 5 “Cities with the Rudest Kids,” coming in at number 5.

Solitaired surveyed respondents in 28 cities, asking them to make classifications about what makes a kid “rude,” and to see which U.S. cities had some of the rudest kids. The majority of respondents said that a “rude kid” involves, “Being absorbed in their phone, cursing, playing music or videos too loudly, and being rude to their parents.”

On a scale of 10, Columbus ranked at a 6.43 average, with 10 being the “the rudest.” The national average was 5.90. Philadelphia, San Francisco, New York City, and Las Vegas were the cities that ranked even ruder than Columbus.
