This Columbus-area city was named one of the most charming in the Midwest by ‘Travel Magazine’

While many who live in Columbus proper might not make the trek down to Lancaster very often, there’s no time like the present to start doing so.

You likely won’t regret it, but don’t just take our word for it.

In a story published last month by Travel Magazine titled “The most charming towns and small cities in the Midwest,” the City of Lancaster made the cut.

“Fueled by an abundance of natural gas, glassmaking has become a part of life in this city of 40,763 residents 30 miles southeast of Columbus and visitors flock to the city’s Ohio Glass Museum,” the Travel Magazine story reads. “Sightseers enjoy the downtown covered bridges, the buzz of the open-air art trail, and an annual 10-day music and arts festival in the summer.”

Yellow Springs, which is itself close enough to Columbus for a weekend day trip, was the only other Ohio city mentioned among the list of 20 Midwest cities and towns. The cities were not qualitatively ranked.
