Free ‘Harry Potter’ experience with spell casting, potion-drinking & treats coming this weekend

Enchanting the grounds of Fairfield County, the annual Wands and Wizards Weekend is returning for the 7th year of spell–casting and Harry Potter themed fun.

Taking place August 8 – 10, the festivities will feature live performances, scavenger hunts, workshops and more. Activities will be spread throughout various Fairfield communities such as Pickerington and Lancaster.

Local businesses will also be joining in by opening their doors for wizards of all ages. Locations such as True North Coffee and Cafe and L–City Coffee will offer their own “potions” and “wizard brews”, and others such as the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio will feature a wand–making workshops.

Other hands-on experience will take place during the weekend such as glass blowing, arts and crafts and trivia. Towards the end of the three–day celebration, a Wizard Faire will be held with Renaissance style entertainment, games and more.

Although the event is free to the public, certain workshops have limited space and require registration. Overnight and weekend packages can also be purchased and include elements such as hotel stays, vouchers and wizarding gear.
