‘Just know it’s out of our control:’ After nearly 15 years, Columbus skatepark closing

Following a 14-year run, Skate Naked Skate Park will be closing its doors.

Located in a massive warehouse-style building on the city’s East Side at 3790 E. 5th Ave., the Columbus skatepark plans to call it quits at the end of August, according to a statement posted to its social media pages.

“After an unimaginably awesome 14 years, Skate Naked is closing. We are losing the building,” the statement reads. “So instead of 100 questions, just know it’s out of our control.”

The skatepark asked patrons to share a favorite memory or funny story in the comments.

“This really sucks and it hurts, but if you want to rip it up one more time, you’ve only got until the end of this month before the ramps start coming down,” the post reads.
