Beginning May 1, Velvet Ice Cream will reopen its iconic scoop shop, and celebrate more than a century of serving Ohio.

Ye Olde Mill, a family-friendly historic destination will open for the season on May 1 at 11 a.m. The Mill, which is located at 11324 Mt. Vernon Rd. in Utica, is also home to Velvet’s headquarters and its scoop shop.

The unique location also features Ohio’s only Ice Cream Museum and more than 20 spacious acres to explore, in addition to an ice cream shop offering more than 40 flavors.

This summer, you can add a few new flavors to that list as well. To celebrate its 110th anniversary, Velvet Ice Cream is adding four new flavors to its offerings, including:

Midnight Munchie: Chocolate ice cream with brownie chunks, pretzel pieces and a caramel swirl.

Monster: Cookie n’ Cream ice cream with a thick peanut butter swirl.

Oatmeal Cream Pie: Vanilla ice cream with a hint of molasses and crumbled oatmeal pie pieces.

Cookie Lovers Trio: Blue and white sugar cookie ice cream with a blue cookie dough swirl and chocolate cookies filled with creme.

“Embracing our rich heritage, we’re thrilled to introduce these exciting new flavors that reflect the evolving tastes of our cherished customers over the past century plus,” said president of Velvet Ice Cream Luconda Dager in a press release. “These additions not only celebrate our past, but also look forward a sweet future.”
