Columbus-based retail store opening new German Village location

You may have noticed the beautiful space that’s been sitting empty for years now on the corner of 364 E. Whittier St., across from Barcelona and Hey Hey Bar & Grill.

If you’re anything like me, you might have even daydreamed about opening your own store, bar, or restaurant there.

Well, Mutts & Co. beat us to it! The family-owned and operated pet supply and retail store is opening their 9th location on Whittier. “This new store will have all your favorite natural pet foods and supplies, plus a self-service dog wash to keep those pups looking fresh! And we will be offering our free, same-day delivery to pet parents throughout the downtown area – Merion Village, Short North, Arena District, Olde Towne East, Franklinton, Bexley and more!!!” said a Facebook post.

They’re still finalizing the opening date, so stay tuned.

Everywhere you look in German Village, there’s dogs running about, cats laying in the sunny windows, and even pigs (anyone who’s met the neighborhood pig, Chicharrones knows what I’m talking about) frequenting Schiller Park. However, the neighborhood lacks a boutique pet supplies store.
