Ohio university that costs $60k/year is waiving all tuition for qualifying students
Delaware County has continuously been making headlines throughout this past year, with publications deeming it the one of the best places to live in the entire country.
Now, there may be another reason why this central Ohio county is such a desirable place to raise your family.
Ohio Wesleyan University announced their new tuition-free initiative, called the Delaware County Promise, which promises full-tuition scholarships for qualifying incoming high school students that reside in Delaware County, starting this fall. The 24-25 tuition for an incoming freshman is currently $68,572 (including room, board, and fees; $53,264 without room, board, and fees).
To qualify to attend OWU for no tuition costs, all high school students must live in or go to school in Delaware county, and they must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, and their family must have an annual adjusted gross income of less than $100k. The Delaware County Promise also only applies to first-year college students.
BROUGHT TO YOU BY
“More than 180 years ago, the people of Delaware donated to the Rev. Adam Poe to purchase the Mansion House (known today as Elliott Hall) and found a college. Through their generosity and vision, Ohio Wesleyan University was chartered in 1842. OWU owes its existence to the people of Delaware, and it is fitting that we give back to the famility of our community,” said their website.
To promote academic success and a full living-learning experience, students who receive the Delaware County Promise Scholarship must live on the OWU campus.
