Downtown attraction named one of the best river walks in the nation by ‘USA Today’ voters
One of Downtown Columbus’ most iconic destinations has been named among the best in the country in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.
The Scioto Mile was named the 10th best riverwalk in the country in the USA TODAY voting.
“Columbus’ Scioto Mile features 175 acres of green parkland connecting downtown to the Scioto River,” USA Today writes. “You’ll find nine parks here, 12 miles of surrounding trails for walking and biking, a climbing wall, a 15,000-square-foot interactive fountain, and a year-round series of community-wide events on offer, like the Rhythm on the River music series and Jazz and Rib Fest.”

The Scioto Mile Fountain closed last summer to undergo renovations, and is slated to reopen this year.
The Columbus riverwalk wasn’t the only Ohio spot on the list, however. Cincinnati’s Smale Riverfront Park was named the best in the country on the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice list.
