The doors closed at Northland Swim Club yesterday to mark the end of the season, and they may not reopen again. According to a statement posted to the pool’s Facebook page last week, Northland Swim Club is on the brink of closure.

“As many of you have seen from our posts…we are in danger of closing permanently after this weekend,” the statement reads.

But there’s still hope for the 59 year-old spot.

So far, the pool has raised more than $16,000 for next year. You can make a donation here. Additionally, an anonymous donor will match donations over $250, up to $10,000. According to Swim Club treasurer Lou Francelli, the pool needs approximately $50,000 to be able to open next year.

“It’s been amazing seeing the response from the community. We have seen a lot of old friends and have also heard from new folks who want to see community pools continue,” said Francelli.

The Northland Swim Club is located at 5006 Almont Dr.
