New city park complete with pickle ball courts, bike skills track, now open

A new city park complete with pickle ball courts, a bike skills track and more has opened in Westerville.

Warner Woods Park, a 45-acre green space, held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark its opening today. The park is located at 4790 Warner Rd.

Billed as a hub for recreation, community and relaxation, the new park offers the following:

BROUGHT TO YOU BY

  • Three full-size soccer fields and pickleball courts
  • A bicycle skills track
  • ADA-accessible benches, tables and pathways
  • An accessible playground that includes poured-in-place rubber surfacing for easy access, a wheelchair-accessible carousel and ground play elements
  • A futsal court was added to address the growing interest in the sport
  • An open-air shelter with a hickory inlaid floor, decorative metal screenings and a stone knee wall for privacy
  • A boardwalk that winds through a wetland area and offers stunning views of the park’s forested areas
  • A rental pavilion that offers an affordable space to celebrate weddings and events for up to 100 guests

“This park reflects our city’s commitment to accessible, high-quality green spaces,” Director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Bernita A. Reese said in a press release. “Warner Woods Park isn’t just about recreation—it’s a place for connection, nature and celebrating our community’s diversity.”
