After 19 years, popular Chinese restaurant closing, to be demolished for new development

A beloved spot for grabbing authentic Chinese food for the past two decades has confirmed their closing and is facing the exact same fate as The Bier Stube.

Yau’s Chinese Bistro, located at 1493 N. High St., told 614Now that their last day would probably be September 30. “We’re closing because of the new building coming here,” they told us.

Recently, the University Area Commission approved plans for a new apartment building, which means Yau’s Bistro, the Bier Stube, and 14-0 Express will all be demolished to make room for the new development.

Guests will surely miss all that Yau’s had to offer – from the hot & sour soup to the Singapore rice noodles.
