37 year old local favorite restaurant announces they’re closing their doors soon

For multiple years in a row, a local Asian restaurant has been nominated as the “neighborhood favorite” on the Nextdoor App., and hundreds of five star reviews show that their Sesame Chicken dish will surely be missed, along with the sense of community that this restaurant has built in the past 3+ decades.

Eastern Palace Fine Asian Cuisine, a 37 year old restaurant located at 6078 E. Livingston Ave., announced they would be closing their doors by the end of the weekend, effective July 1st. “It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our community, but it is time to say our goodbyes,” Eastern Palace shared on Facebook.

“We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. Many of our customers became friends and family over the years, and we treasure the shared experiences with you and appreciate your patronage,” the post continued.

Eastern Palace said that they encourage everyone to have one final meal with them this week.

Loyal patrons expressed their appreciation for this reliable restaurant that’s been in their lives for decades. One person commented on the post, “So many celebrations were shared here with my family. It was one of Dad’s greatest joys to bring friends here for dinner and introduce them to Tony and the staff. I wish you, your family and the staff the best. You have been a very busy man for many years and a rest is well deserved.”

Another person said, “I’m so saddened to hear this! You are by far the best Chinese food in town! Or anywhere! I’ve. Been coming there for 34 years! And Tony & Jimmy have never aged! What will we do with your egg rolls? lol! You will be missed but never forgotten and always loved! You deserve a good rest after all your years of service ! What a great job you have all done!”

This week is the last one to grab some of the best Mongolian Beef and Broccoli in town. They’ll be open during their normal business hours until they close on July 1.
