After 41 years of business, local market announces sudden closure, says ‘nature of brick-and-mortar retail has changed’

“Our family and staff deeply appreciate your loyalty to our store and hope we have changed lives as you have changed ours. You will be missed,” said the owners of a local market that’s been offering a selection of natural foods & supplements for decades.

Raisin Rack Natural Foods Market opened their Westerville location at 2545 West Schrock Rd. in Westerville back in 1983 after success with their Canton store, which opened in 1978. The natural foods store quickly became a go-to spot for a wide wide variety of organic groceries, gluten-free foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, meats, vegan, vegetarian, beverages, water, and bulk grains, nuts, seeds and herbs, plus supplements and natural personal-care products.

But now, they’re saying goodbye. “Another chapter in Raisin Rack’s rich history will come on Sunday, November 10 when we close for the last time as a full retailer. We will reopen on Monday, November 11 to begin our clearance sale until Friday, November 15 when we will close after our last day of doing business in central Ohio,” said Raisin Rack’s Facebook post.

It’s rare to find a store where every item is thoughtfully selected with the best ingredients and intention. But according to Raisin Rack, “We are sorry we need to close, but the nature of brick-and-mortar retail has changed so much, we were unable to extend our lease for another six years.”

If you have any rewards points accumulated over the years, make sure to use them up this week, or you can still shop online or even drive to their Canton store.
