Since the summer of 2023, Bumble’s Backyard’s has been planning the creation of “Columbus’ first dog park and bar,” and now the concept is finally coming to fruition.

According to a social media post from owners Lauryn and Evan Betterton, Bumble’s Backyard will officially open to the public this weekend.

It will be open Saturday 2-10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-8 a.m.

Bumble’s Backyard is located at 1280 Brown Rd., in the former location of sort-serve spot Double Happy. Not only will the new concept continue to offer Double Happy’s soft serve, it will also serve craft beer and coffee.

The new concept purchased the grassy lot adjacent to Double Happy, which it converted to a dog park.

“We want to create a place where dogs, dog havers and dog lovers can have fun together. Bumble’s Backyard will be a community cornerstone where dog people can come to take a morning meeting while their dog runs around, meet friends for a happy hour after work or bring a first date to ensure your dogs get along,” Lauryn Betteron said in a press release.
