Coffee chain known for pistachio lattes & cheesecake fraps opens first-ever Ohio location

The wait is over! You can now snag an incredible cardamon coffee and milk cake at a popular Yemeni coffee chain that has opened their first-ever central Ohio location.

Finjan Cafe, which started in Garden City, MI, opened last month at 4734 Cemetery Rd. in Hilliard, and it’s already becoming a popular destination for a caffeine and sweets fix. If that address looks familiar, it’s because Citadel Cafe used to be housed here, serving Mediterranean-style fare.

The new Yemeni coffee shop serves authentic coffees and teas flavored with warm, traditional spices. You can also order refreshers, smoothies, frappuccinos, and hot or iced lattes, as well as a variety of delectable small cakes like Sabaya, which is a traditional Yemeni cake with multiple layers of crispy dough.

Their website says, “Yemen is a beautiful country with so much to offer. From its breathtaking scenery to its ancient history, it’s the proud birth place of our family. To honor that, we have named our Coffe house Finjan which means Cup in Arabic. It’s in Yemen that coffee was actually invented and later flourished into a global trade. Immediately inspired, we began building Finjan. As we navigated building our business and vision through the pandemic we kept one thing in mind; to bring the most authentic Yemeni Coffee experience…”

Finjan Cafe is open Monday through Thursday, 3pm-12am, and Friday through Sunday, 3pm-2am. These hours are subject to change after Ramadan ends, however.
