Columbus fast-food chain abruptly closes a location permanently

There’s now one less place for a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, fry, and a frosty.

The Wendy’s located at 4595 E. Main St. posted a sign on their door stating they’re permanently closed, and the building is now already boarded up.

The former fast-food restaurant is already available for lease, with a move-in date of September 1. A Wendy’s representative could not be reached for comment.

Fortunately, East Side residents don’t have to drive far for another Wendy’s option – there’s one located a couple of miles down the road at 3090 E. Main St.

Wendy’s has a long history and tradition here in Columbus. The first-ever restaurant was opened in 1969 at 257 E. Broad St.! They’re even known for introducing the first “drive-thru” window to the world, according to their website.
