‘Columbus’ first dog park and [human] bar’ needs your help to launch

Bumble’s Backyard, self-described as “Columbus’ first dog park and bar,” is hoping to begin construction soon on the city’s West Side, and the new concept is asking for help from the Columbus community.

The new concept is launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money for construction, which it hopes to begin soon, with the ultimate goal of opening for business this summer.

The combination dog park, human bar and coffee shop is located at 1280 Brown Rd., in the former home of Double Happy, which served as a Columbus soft serve spot.

New operators Lauryn and Evan Betterton plan to continue offering Double Happy’s soft serve, in addition to craft beer and coffee. The entire property will be fenced in, allowing dogs to roam freely about outside.

“We want to create a place where dogs, dog havers and dog lovers can have fun together. Bumble’s Backyard will be a community cornerstone where dog people can come to take a morning meeting while their dog runs around, meet friends for a happy hour after work or bring a first date to ensure your dogs get along,” Lauryn Betteron said in a press release.
