A Columbus food truck that opted for an original business model has closed its doors for good.

On Sept. 17, the Purple Chicken, a central Ohio food truck known for fried chicken, fries and a line of retail sauces, announced that us has closed.

“After careful consideration and due to medical and economic reasons—including rising inflation and the challenges of running a small-batch operation—we have the difficult decision to close the Purple Chicken Food Truck and our Amazon store,” the post reads.

According to owners John and Sherehan Ross, the food truck shuttered in July, but sales of its signature hot sauce will continue online until they sell out.

The Purple Chicken set itself apart from other food truck models by opting to not only create a line of speciality sauces, but to sell them by the bottle on third parties sites like Amazon. You can find their sauces on here while they’re still in stock.
