Columbus restaurant recognized as one of the top 7 Black-owned in the Midwest by VegOut Magazine

The Midwest (or more like the Midbest) is making quite a name for itself in the culinary scene, and vegan restaurants should absolutely not be excluded from those achievements.

Especially The Nile Vegan, a local Ethiopian restaurant that’s been recognized in VegOut Magazines list of the 7 best Black-owned vegan restaurants in the Midwest. VegOut specializes in highlighting the absolute best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the world, and it’s incredible that a Columbus restaurant made it on their exclusive list.

Here’s what they had to say about The Nile Vegan:

“Serving up delicious Ethiopian cuisine, Nile Vegan is a Midwest must. Inspired by his Ethiopian heritage, chef and owner, Siyum Tefera, has filled the menu with authentic and comforting dishes. Start with an order of sambusas, followed by Ye Atakilt Alicha (a curried vegetable medley eaten with injera), and snag a brewed Ethiopian coffee for your trek home.”

See what all the hype’s about for yourself! The Nile Vegan is located at 1223 Goodale Blvd. They first opened in 2019, becoming a local favorite for traditional Ethiopian dishes, such as hot stews and lentils, all served on spongey injera bread, and completely vegan.
